We represent companies in a wide variety of industries including hardwood flooring, wood doors, plywood, stone, granite, slate roofing/flooring & tile products, electronics, apparel, glass & mirrors, toys, metal/plastic fabrication, and sporting goods just to mention a few. Our unique approach is to facilitate the direct relationship between the Chinese manufacturer and the u. S. Buyer through our office in Qingdao, China. The challenges that exist in any international transaction usually revolve around communication and trust. Distance, language, and cultural differences often impede the smooth development of lasting and productive relationships. Operating from our Qingdao office, cmi president, ron hillman, and bilingual assistant, helen long, have over 30 years of international trade experience and are experts at building positive and profitable relationships between our Chinese manufacturers and their u. S. Partners. Our mission is to bring international sellers and buyers together to create long lasting, open, and trusting business relationships.
What cmi offers to clients is China based 'americanism' with wide material background, bilingual communication skills, quality control inspection services and knowledge of effective manufacturers for your market. We do attempt to work for the buyer with the applicable producers and, yes, we do extract a profit for this. We do have extensive international shipping experience and we do have registration rights to export from China. These last two items may mean little to some, but the vast majority of Chinese manufacturers have no shipping knowledge and do not have import/export registration, thus they work with trading companies who have such rights and limited knowledge. What the trading companies lack is experience in the us market and, often, ineffective communication skills. Additionally, to complete the task of dealing with several different products from China and working with trading companies or manufacturers, one will need communication with several different firms with a vast variety of backgrounds and skills. Dealing with cmi with these products is one contact with experience in both markets. We recognize this characteristics as value added to the appropriate buyers.
